Iowa Teaching Standards The Iowa Teaching Standards were created by the Iowa Department of Education to ensure teacher quality in every classroom. Below is the description of my e-portfolio in light of these eight standards.

Standard 1	Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance and support implementation of the school district's achievement goals. My letters of recommendation demonstrate my fulfillment of this standard.
Standard 2	Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to teaching position.  This standard is reflected in my teaching credentials.
Standard 3	Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.  I fullfill this standard by developing curricula.
Standard 4	Uses Strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students. I use Power Point, Overhead Projectors, Models and various other means of instruction.
Standard 5	Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning.  I use a variety of assessments to monitor student progress.
Standard 6	Demonstrates competence in classroom management.  I fullfill this standard through the implementation of my classroom management plan.
Standard 7	Engages in professional growth.  This standard is reflected in my approach to education and attendance to professional development while I teach.
Standard 8	Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district.  My letters of recommendation demonstrate my fulfillment of this standard.
