CLASS RULES & PROCEDURES

CLASS RULES &  PROCEDURES

Treat others politely & with respect. Treat others as you would like them to treat you.

Bring textbook, coloured pencils, writing implements, and file folder (3-ringed binder) with you everyday. Come prepared to learn.

Treat your school & personal property with respect

Follow teacher requests

Please dress appropriately, as mentioned in your handbook.

Speak only if you think it will benefit your or your classmate's education.

Follow directions the first time they are given to you.

Enter and leave room quietly.

No name calling or put-downs or profanity. Speak politely to others. Do not harass or tease any one else.

Complete homework & other assignments on time, as completely done as you can. Make a good effort at your work & request help when you need it. Take responsibility for missed work.

Come to class on time, and be in your seat when the first bell rings. Work on warm-ups after the second bell rings.

Make the best effort at your work -- put your best foot forward always.

Positively participate. Not just when you are called upon by your teacher.

Do not behave in a way that would disrupt education in the class

Turn off cellphones & do not chew gum in class. Water is allowed. No other edibles are permitted.

Raise your hand when you have a question or want to answer

Take a pass with you when you go to the rest room; 1 person at a time

Be quiet when the teacher is speaking or if a fellow classmate is raising a question or providing an answer.

Review your notes if you finish your work early

Tardies: absent from class less than half the period. If you are not in the rom when the bell rings and do not have a pass in hand, you will be considered tardy.. A 20-minute detention will be assigned for each tardy.

You are all bright, capable & responsible people. You are all capable of bringing name, fame and glory to your family, your school, the community, and the nation. We expect great things of you.

Disciplinary action will follow 5 steps sequentially: (1) Nonverbal cue. (2) Verbal cue & first warning. (3) Final warning & indicate the choice the student is making. (4) Student moves to a designated area of the class to work on a plan. (5) Student goes somewhere else (Principal's office) to develop a plan.
