In this lesson my 6th graders are getting ready to do an assignment that brings together all the different things they've been learning and practicing the past week; pattern and overlap, contour drawing, and positive and negative space. In reviewing pattern, I wanted to introduce the students to a particular culture that is well known for pattern, the Aborigines. So I have incorporated my interest in music as an attention step to motivate students and strengthen receptivity. Please click on the clapper to view the 4 minute movie.
