I am grateful to both of my mothers:  to my biological mother for her selfless decision to give me to my second mother; to my second mother for her acceptance of my suggestion of going to government school (public school) (Please read My Destiny). I would like to use this opportunity to thank my university lecturers, Dr Fassil Assefa and Dr Sileshi Nemomissa, who were always encouraging me to go for higher education and especially the former who encouraged me never to stop learning new things. All my relatives, especially Abebech Asrat and Aweke Asrat are in the front to be acknowledged for my success in studying the Master of Arts in Teaching. I am thankful to the staff in the Department of Education, M.U.M., Professor Christophor Jones, Ms. Mish Morris, Professor Paula Armstrong, who were so helpful during my study and in creating an atmosphere of home like feeling. I am grateful to Ms Toni Alazraki who was patient enough and contributed a lot in shaping some of the texts in this portfolio. A special acknowledgment goes to Professor Ken Daley whose follow up allowed me to finalize my portfolio in its' current form. I am grateful to my cooperating teachers Mr George Crump and Mr Brian Nixon and my Supervisor Professor James Harris, administrative and academic staff in W.T. Woodson High School; for they were all  helpful in guiding and advising me when I needed their support. Last but not least to be mentioned here are my wife Gorfua Zewdie and my kids Melat and Hermela who with all the pain of separation allowed me to be in USA to study and fulfill my desire for higher education. Finally, I would like to thank all who in one way or another helped me either during my study and/or in constructing this portfolio.
