• The term "cyberspace" was first used by William Gibson in his 1984 award winning science fiction novel Neuromancer.

What is an electronic publication


Definition: An electronic publication results from an act of publishing in which information is encoded, accessed, and made intelligible through the use of a computer. It is characterized by being released for public access whether it is made accessible or distributed for free or for sale. It resides on a host computer or information server, and is accessible over a communications network. Data contained in the e-publication can be static or dynamic, that is to say subject to potential or actual continuous change. Although data may be altered, an electronic publication is usually but not exclusively made identifiable with a fixed title.

• Yale Style Manual-This manual describes the design principles used to create the pages within the Center for Advanced Instructional Media's (C/AIM) World Wide Web site. If a style guide for the Internet could exist this would be it.
